>>56989545I straight up skipped DPPt, as I think many pokemon fans fell out of the franchise at some point before getting back into it. And for me, I just wasn't interested in it.
Went back, and it took three tries to get to the end. I understand Gen 4 is beloved by so many people. But my completely subjective opinion is that it takes everything bad with Gen 3 and builds upon it while removing the interesting environments of Gen 3.
I didn't even play the post-game of Platinum. I beat the elite 4, transfered the pokemon I wanted to keep, and sold the game.
FRLG are kind of underwhelming, because I grew up with Red and Blue, and they weren't enough of an improvement to really feel like anything other than a cash-grab. They wanted a way to transfer Gen 1 into the GBA era, but why not just put the 150 spread 50ish each into Ruby, Sapphire, and Emeralds post games?
But the most skippable pokemon game is picrel. Universally. Unless it had a weird cult following in latin america that I'm not aware of.
