Hey /vp/, help me out.
I've got a Switch game voucher, so I can pick anything from:

I've played PLA and Violet, so I was thinking about getting Let's Go Pikachu. Is it good, or should I go for Sword/Shield or the Diamond/Pearl remakes (I haven't played the originals)?

Or if it has to be a Pokemon game, pick Pokken, PMDDX, or Snap, those are all solid games.

The Diamond and Pearl remakes are exact copies of Diamond and Pearl with minimal extras. Limited to the 493 but if you completed PLA you get an Arceus, and having save data for Sword/Shield and Let's Go give you a Jirachi and Mew. The other side events are over, so no Darkrai, Manaphy Egg, Platinum outfits, or Shaymin without transferring them from PLA.

Let's go Pikachu is Pokemon Yellow but an alternate universe where Red and PENIS are unique characters who made a Pokedex by hand. Eevee gets the Pokémon that weren't in Yellow as a paired version. Limited to the 151 plus their Alola forms.

Sword and Shield outside of the complaining about the dex cut is a transitional period to the more open world of the later games and you get mega evolutions. All the Pokemon added in DLC while not available for capture are added back to the game as a patch.

Thanks. Which one did you find more enjoyable? I don't care much about dex completing so those missed events and total pokemon numbers aren't a main concern

The first 3 posts are all solid suggestions.
There's a lot of great games on offer outside of Pokémon that I'd recommend you get something else.
If you do decide to go for a Pokémon game, pick one of the spin-offs that isn't DPR. My recommendation there is New Snap; a worthwhile sequel to the original, but its MSRP is too expensive for what the game is, so I'd only get it if it's discounted.
LGPE, Pokken, PMDDX, and many of the other eligible games have demos, try those out first if you plan on getting any of them.

That's every Pokémon game on Switch. They're worth half, or a third for paid DLC, of what they're sold for at best. Except for Detective Pikachu Returns, they consider that $10 shovelware a "discount title" at $50.

Honestly it's a tossup between Let's Go and Sword/Shield.

If you want more variety in Pokemon and trainers to fight in single player content, Sword and Shield is going to have the most replay value. The Elite Four is a repeatable tournament where you rematch the gym leaders (and if you do end up getting the DLC there's a couple other repeatable battle things you can do.) You also get a battle tower after completing the story

Let's Go will have daily rematches for the 8 individual gym leaders and the Elite Four able to be rematched. A couple bonus characters will pop up each time you beat the Elite Four. Each of the 153 will have a master trainer you can battle to gain their title so while you have less than half of the Pokemon in base SwSh, you have to work to level up each one for a challenge.

BDSP is an accurate remake of the Gen IV game to a fault so while it's fun to play if you're a fan of Gen IV, it can get old really quick. Gym Leader and E4 rematches with harder party composition are available, along with a battle tower.
