There's a difference between an idea that wasn't implemented, an idea that had progress on it that when removed makes the game feel less whole, and literally cutting out a part of the game for DLC or a re-release. Xenoblade is unfinished not because spikes were implemented in a jank way, but because the removal of Bionis' Shoulder made a weird pacing gap in the game that even in the story is a little odd. There was a fucking epidemic of games in the early 10's where some of the DLC is literally on the disc. XY specifically is somewhere in between these two examples, as they clearly had an idea of what they wanted to do, had notes on it roughly to the level of notes for other things that made it into the final game in some form, and also had notes specifically saying to stop working on it to save it for a third version. Put simply, XY removed a segment of the game in such a way that it feels wrong without it, in other words unfinished. It's not like this is an unusual complaint either, it's true for Wind Waker as well.

If you want to play this painfully retarded game game, my argument was originally that the Reveal Glass was fanfic shit. And the Reveal Glass is neither an evo item nor an item. It's a Key Item for changing the forms of a trio of legendaries who were so unremarkable in their base forms that they needed transformations in BW2 to be worth giving a shit about.

So basically, you were arguing with yourself from the very beginning.

When anon said "all item evos", I assumed he meant sequel/nextgen items that serve no purpose other than triggering crossgen evos. Not the goddamn elemental stones in gen 1. And in hindsight I should've went straight for using Duraludon's Metal Alloy or the Magma/Electrizer instead of Leafeon & leafstone as an example, but y'know, shoulda coulda woulda.
