>>57014919Gen 7 in general was way more popular than gen 8, especially in terms of story, so there was little reason for anyone to care about her. As far as their concerned, Oleana is just a strictly worse version of Lusamine. Also doesn't help that she's obsessed with frankly the most boring and idiotic "evil villains" in the entire series, further making her character feel even more artificial than just being a worse clone of Lusamine already made her.
She probably would've been way more popular if they focused more on the character traits and look they gave her younger self. While the concept of a former researcher being the boss of an organization is interesting, TPC never did anything with it besides having her kiss up to Rose. Honestly, having a random researcher with only a little bit of focus here and there show up at the end and actually giving you a tough fight would've been a lot more interesting of an idea in my view, and it would've required a lot less work on Game Freak's part. For some reason, all of the major characters in the newer games are given very eye-catching designs, whether they need them catch the eye or not, and that seems to be their greatest detriment more often than not.
