This is probably one of the worst examples you could've used because it shows that PLA had some amount of effort put into the art direction and how it was implemented while Palworld looks like someone just opened UE, plopped in a bunch of stock assets, and called it a day. Hell I'd even say that it looks closer to PLA's literal tech demo phase.

Surprise surprise, opinions change over time. Back then we didn't have a Scarlet & Violet to slobber over, and PL:A was the closest thing we had to an open world pokemon game. We go through this cycle every time; what was once new and loved becomes hated, or what was once new and hated becomes old and loved. Pokemon fans are naturally fickle like that. But that said Legends Arceus doesn't look all that fantastic, and people have been saying that week one in its release.

Not really. Not unless you're selling 31m+ copies of it and as nothing's touched RGB yet, Legends did better than everything including RGB (as they sold the exact same game three times in Japan, only difference being less bugs and better sprite art) per SKU.

Arceus's art style was the best part of the game from a conceptual standpoint.
Palworld looked jank as fuck with realistic environmental textures and extremely simplistic monster designs and texturing laid on top of one another.

No, Wind Waker has a nice art style. Legends Arceus has an floaty animations and wildly incosistent levels of detail from one texture and model to another.
I'm not going to weigh in on whether the art style is the best part of Legends Arceus, but if you stand by that you're not singing praises.
