I don't care about a pokemon's competitive viability or even just in-game viability, if I like the design I'm putting it on my team regardless. (not that this is much of a big deal for me anyway since most of my favorite mons are of the "cool-looking" variety, most of which have atleast some viability going for them, whether it be in the meta or in-game)
