Ash has no special ancestors, he never got a third legendary pokémon handed to him, he wasn't even allowed to keep a fully evolved psuedo legendary pokémon, he allowed to get good things as damage control for Kalos League backlash.

its almost the same thing as the recent Ashnime shows.

He has super special aura powers which no one else has for no reason thst boosts the power of an already strong mega in battle which is dumb

They're trying a different approach of storytelling after getting rid of the decayed baggage so there is that.
After 76 episodes did not a single character from the previous 25 seasons returned and Horizons didn't got cancelled unlike what doomposters claimed would happen so clearly it will go on the gen cycle because it can hold up on its own merits and they won't compromise it's material for cheap JN-tier fan service. Oh and so far every promise of the Likonime cast has been kept unlike some others that have been forgotten or flatout dropped so if there is one thing about it then it's ability to actually deliver.

Anime being made to promote the games was never the issue(you could argue if Horizons even does that as much since they spent a lot of time on other regions). It IS different to the ashnime though.
