Baby Pokemon are the poster children for unrecognized potential in the franchise.
>Magmar, Electabuzz, and Jynx are all pretty stronk pokemon
>give them pre-evolutions so players can use them sooner without ripping the early game a new asshole
>babies are unavailable in the wild in gens 2-4
>you can't even start breeding until midgame
>you need to already have the evolved form to be able to get your hands on the prevo
>BW2 finally gives you access to early route babies but then they never do that again
>anytime babies are available in the wild, their evolved form is also just as available, sometimes even within the same damn route

At least they can't stop me from boxing my starter and transferring hatchlings over to a fresh save. I'll have my Baby Brawl whether Gamefreak likes it or not.

Makes absolutely no sense that you solve one problem, but then create an entirely more annoying problem in doing so
Also, anytime you get gifted an egg in the games, it's almost always Togepi, and not any of the other babies... the only exceptions I can think of were Crystal's Mystery Egg(which you can't control what it will be), or GF's current gen humanoid shillmon (Riolu, Toxel)

I used to do Mystery Egg runs on the DS & 3DS games but it's too much of a pain in the ass to setup on Switch when every game now has a unique set of available mons, so this is my compromise.
It's my preferred way to replay a gen with a crappy encounter table.
