I forget, was there anything notable about her in the leaks? Anything like what they'd originally planned, or prior concepts for her character? AZ at least was at one point supposed to be the main antagonist and endboss, but I don't remember reading anything for Malva.

I honestly thought the whole Team Flare thing was just a popular headcanon thing that the game vaguely hints towards or something. And I played the fucking game. That's how forgettable and irrelevant that moment was.

I'm fine with the E4 members being glorified NPCs, though it would best if they could be built up indirectly throughout the story. What bugs me about Malva specifically is that she is a reminder that there is little accountability in the Pokemon universe. She should be arrested for having ties with Lysandre given what he almost did. Is this just wonky worldbuilding or does Japan not depict this for some cultural reason? They clearly do have law enforcement in the series.
