In Ruby/Sapphire, you're probably spending that EQ TM on something else, so you have shit like Rock Slide and Dragon Claw to work with, which isn't killing anything with that lacking special attack and middling attack
You don't even have support moves to use... not even Leech Seed because that's an egg move
Sceptile is just fast and looks cool, so people think it's better than it actually is
