Giving evos to shitmons to make them less stupid is a good idea, so long as the new evo doesn't look like shit. What I don't like is when they do a regional evo or all the convergent/divergent evo shit because we'll pretty much only see them once ever.

I've always wished GF would do something with underpowered shitmons, and megas would've done that until they decided to start giving them to Pokemon that were already good, but then they only made mega evos stick around for like two gens and that just sucks.
IMO, at some point they should bring back megas, add more (mostly to shitmons and other less-popular Pokemon), then make it so that you run off to some late-game town with some lab that uses your stones to permanently make a full-friendship Pokemon automatically mega evolve at the start of every battle, no hold items needed.
It'd need some hefty rebalancing, of course.

I wish the spine had actually been black so it would be more believable that the tail loops around back to the head. Plus the dark brown/black border on the head is hardly noticeable but when you finally see it it looks incredibly ugly.

Tyranitar's, Garchomp's, and Slowbro's were sidegrades that played differently, especially since Garchomp's makes it slower. Lucario was already floundering in Gen 5, one gen after its true debut, so it getting a Mega wasn't out of the question. Blaziken was silly, but was a teaser for ORAS, and both Sceptile and Swampert also received one. Alakazam's lacks the protection the base form has, and still dies to basically any physical attack, especially Sucker Punch. Venusaur was hard carried by permanent sun, which got removed in XY, so it getting a Mega wasn't egregious except for the fact that the Kanto starters had them at all. Gyarados got one because Lysandre has a Gyarados. Metagross fell off in XY because of the type chart changes, so it was fine - and it'd be ridiculous for the Champion's ace to NOT have one. Salamence getting one was because of Drake. Scizor getting one was dumb. The Lati twins getting them was also dumb, but they ended up being not that great despite being overpowered on paper.

to be fair theres just too many ways to go with Girafarig I love Farigiraf and I can see why you might be disappointed by I like the total symbiosis the two head becoming one. Someone had a chart of dozens of fan made Girafarig evos and I wish I had saved it.
