SwSh was about as bad as XY. There was even a poster early in the game showing Galars top 3 most popular pokemon: Machamp, Charizard and Gengar.

Me too. Which is why DPPt is worse for not treating them like regular Pokemon and instead treating them like the only Pokemon the player should see in the game.

In Gen 4 you're complaining about them literally just being encounterable. This isn't "shoving" down your face like XY and SwSh do, making Kanto pokemon excessively Brough to your attention more actively.
