>>57061730If Ice had sensible resistances like a Ground (snow is padded and muffles and covers the ground), Water (if Water resists Ice, the opposite also makes sense), Electric (ice is a terrible conductor due to inert particles) and possibly Flying (arctic animals are built to endure soul chilling winds), things would be a whole lot more balanced and interesting, I don't understand why Gamefreak still insists on it only resisting itself.
>>57061768The thing is, all of those types have their own flavors and reasons to exist, even though Fairy is a bit loose on that with what gets considered to be a fae or a mystical creature.
Cybernetic is literally just electric signals being passed around or if they're robotic, then they're Steel adjacent, "Cosmic" is moronic because reasonably speaking the entirety of our universe contains a relatively similar structure throughout, most every material found in space can be found on Earth, and space tropes can already be fulfilled by other types like Dark, Psychic, Electric, Rock, Steel and Ghost, it's fundamentally pointless.
>>57061780>Blatantly ignores the fact Dark STAB has been incredibly valuable since gen 4 as a check to Psychics and Ghosts while also being a good neutral tool>Ignores that Dark STAB was incredibly valuable in the Ghost and Psychic heavy meta that arose thanks to Fighting types being so stupid>Ignores the fact some of the strongest OU mons in gen 9 are Dark types that use regular Dark moves like Sucker Punch and Crunch to cleave through everything or in Ting-Lu's case, you have a really fat ass to go with your amazing STABYou haven't kept up with Pokemon throughout the years and it's obvious zoom zoom.
