I wouldn't advise relying too much on Wondertraded mons either, as with the rapid level gains they might quickly start disobeying you. Also protip: in Rock Tunnel you can thief farm Chompests for Star Piece and Nugget to sell if you really need the money for something like Game Corner. In addition, you can thief farm Smellox in a certain sewer for Tinymushroom and Big Mushroom to use at the Move Relearner in Actuvit City. You should check all your mons at the Move Relearner especially after they evolve... you might be surprised.

Stuff that can eat a Thunderbolt like a Grass type (when the Ice Beam user is dead), something speedy that can learn whatever Ground TM you have, a mon that has useful setup moves, or something that's just good in general. I haven't played Clover for a while so I have nothing specific in mind but Clover never hangs you to dry when it comes to party options.

I've done a few nuzlockes, and I would say Pikotton is easily the single best pokemon in the game.
It falls off towards endgame, and it's definitely second string to bring to the e4, but it makes almost the entirety of the game before then free. So, so many fights just lose to Pikotton, and it can easily go 3-0 against a lot of gym leader teams, letting you just trade shitmons for the rest.
Other candidates are Semdemen, obviously (though I understand it was nerfed, and I haven't done a run since then), Spookzilla and Oburanyxo, who probably make the single best core to take into the League in the game, with Spookzilla having a bonus round to fuck up some of the Shadow Council fights, and then obviously broken shit like Chromox. If you can get it early, depending on how you rule it works, Humpunny can be really good, too, just because of the sheer number of disposable bodies you get to throw at things.
But I would say none of them have the same fucking tungsten balls as Pikotton, who just wins the entirety of the Fochun badge crawl, and secures a massive pokemon advantage for later on, just because of how many lives it saves. The difference between a run that gets Pikotton, and one that doesn't is massive.

It takes a long time for it to get the moves to actually be useful, its stats are pretty bad so it's kind of a gimmick around those moves, and the ways it is good aren't the easiest to build around. You need pokemon that want hazard support, or that can really capitalize on spore+turn momentum, or whatever else you concoct out of its movepool and abilities. Its more niche moves like Scald are more useful in the context of competitive, where it threatens many common spinners, but it's actually pretty vulnerable to AI 'tard strength just switching in something to kill it or whatever comes in after.
It has a lot of potential, but the work you have to put in to actually get it working is pretty high, for what amounts to hazards on legs a lot of the time. Like, you CAN get more out of it, but that starts getting into team building complexities that most people don't really want to bother with outside of actual competitive.
I'd also say Motherfuck is kinda just better, as far as Spore into imagination goes. Again, the true potential of Smoxilon is WAY higher than Motherfuck, but Motherfuck is stupidly easy to get crazy value out of, in a way that's a bit easier than wrangling Smoxilon onto a team.
If you are the sort of person who is going to spend time planning your fights, Smoxilon is great, because that's where it thrives. Careful calculations, careful teambuilding with specific goals for each pokemon in mind, ect.
If you're more of a fuck it, we ball type, Smoxilon really struggles where a lot of similar, more supportive/finicky don't in the same way, like Motherfuck or Plebbles, or even Florigrace.
Smoxilon is also a very resource hungry pokemon, since it needs frequent trips to the move relearner and tutors, it wants hidden abilities, ect.
For me, if I get it in a Nuzlocke, its fate is almost always to be used for (and potentially sacrificed to) Stump, who is a fucking monster in a Nuzlocke, who you absolutely need to plan for.

I think Vandash might be the only thing that outright outspeeds it... and Vandash fucking sucks, can't kill it, and dies anyways. Again, Rock Tomb into someone a bit stronger who can outspeed -1 Ribizap is your only real option here, or maybe Cotton Spore? I think it gets that. Not sure if it gets it before Guy's cap though. I don't know if Mawsdawg outspeeds, but I don't think it actually has anything to help, unless I'm forgetting something.
I'm almost assuredly forgetting someone, but, similar issues for outspeeding. There are options, but they're not solid answers (again, unless I'm forgeting something).

There's a good handful of options for it, but you probably need at least two of them, both in case nothing goes wrong on another pokemon, but also because a lot of the Ribizap "answers" boil down to "outspeed/tank one hit, use Rock Tomb, die, hope whoever comes in after can kill it and hope it doesn't switch out", and you need that insurance for if it does.
Ebolable is probably the best answer besides Pikotton, assuming it actually can outpseed it, since it's probably the only pokemon you have access to here that can both outspeed AND reliably take one hit.
And Pikotton is just a fucking monster.
I don't think there's a Thunderstone at this point for Venowatt either, who could otherwise probably take two hits. If there IS a Thunderstone available, then Venowatt can probably just take it down
