In my mind, the games would jump the shark the day they add something completely outlandish like legitimate romance options, serious base building, or something else outside of the genre that changes the games forever.
As of right now, everything thats in the thread is just quirks and gimmicks that came and went with the gens and nothing has really stuck that made the genre of games as a whole feel any different. Same formula as the last game, different pokedex.
