>>57101526>No one cares about Contests.Contests sure aren't one of the more popular parts of the franchise and fandom, but there's still people that like them. Like how there's people who do Shiny hunting, getting lots of Ribbons on one Pokémon and so on.
>somewhere Ike Reddit or DiscordI prefer this site to those. We have seen from the previous threads that there are people here that like contests. So it was nice to me to see a contest general.
>>57102537There'd be more talk of contests even if we simply were currently in a gen with contests. But yes, I would have liked if contests were a staple of the series, even better if they made a contest-focussed side series. It felt like such huge missed opportunity that ORAS didn't have online multiplayer for contests, being able to play that version of contests online back then would have been great. Online contests means a contest metagame and that would've really gotten people talking.
>>57102802>These posts make me sad, anon :(I'm sorry, I didn't like making those two posts, I just wanted to know what was causing these threads to do less well, so those of us here can resolve it to get this general back on track. We did get some good contest talk, that just needs to get going again.
>contests haven't been relevant really since ORASI remember how excited I was for ORAS when it was not yet out, one of the specific reasons I wanted a Hoenn remakes was for the return of Hoenn contests. I remembered I played the game a lot after it released.
>and unless you're a completionist going for ribbons or maxxing out your trainer card, you probably won't bother with them in the first place.True, contests are required some Ribbons for those who want them for their Pokémon, notably those trying to get as many Ribbons as they can on one Pokémon. I don't really bother with Ribbons too much, but I did do the contests in ORAS which I trained my Pokémon for and even continued doing them for fun after getting the Ribbons.
