There are so many worthless status moves, particularly ones that create status conditions.

>focus energy
>disable
>conversion
>spite
>safeguard
>psych up
>nightmare
>water sport/mud sport
>torment
>snatch
>role play
>grudge
>flatter
>charge
>camouflage
>miracle eye
>lucky chant
>embargo
>wonder room
>magic room
>telekinesis
>reflect type
>power split/guard split
>bestow
>after you
>flower shield
>fairy lock
>crafty shield
>laser focus
and so on. Sure, most of these have SOME niche, but how often do you use these because they're actually useful, not because you're just trying to find an excuse to use them. When you can only have four moves at a time, almost none of these are worth carrying.
Could these be changed to be viable, or are they just fucked? One idea I've had is that certain status conditions (eg camouflage) persist even after switching. Would this make moves like that more useful, or is the idea of environment-based type changing already pointless? Maybe moves like lucky chant don't expire, like entry hazards. What else could you do to make these moves worth taking a move slot?
