are these games a fun way to experience kanto vanilla or should i play with a rom hack like throwback or radical red

All Ghost types attack are Physical damage
All Dark type attacks are Special attack damage

I feel like this physically hurts my brain and its loosing it function

I wish they had gen 4 mechanics so No Guard Machamp could just sweep the game, and we could evolve stuff into Johtomons but oh well

barely matters for Kanto desu, most mons that get Shadow Ball are either mixed or physical attackers, only stuff that really wish it was special are Gengar, Alakazam and Jolteon

Nearly every Pokemon in Gen 1 is designed with pre-split in mind with the exception of the few physical water types (and even then the only particularly good one of those regardless is Gyarados) and like idk Flareon, which still has perfectly usable Sp ATK

They are middle ground between unpolished but soulful OG and polished but uninspired LGPE. The worst about FRLG is just how fucking boring is overworld design. I'm curious if there are hacks that just replace tilefiles to something less barebone.
