We know for a fact all megas that appeared in XY will appear in L: Z-A, given Game Freak stated ME (the gimmick of XY/Gen 6) will return. We can assume all Hoenn-added megas will also get added and further extrapolate we won't be gifted the Kalos, Kanto or Mudkip/Treeko, due to not being handed the Sinnoh starters and instead being expected to catch them in the wild as part of our study in L: A with L: Z-A being set in the same imprint. My own speculation is our job on the re-development project will be part of a surveyor's team, notarising the local fauna to then redevelop the city sector with the local wildlife in mind, as that seems to be the most realistic way of the player going out into the world map to meet pokémon.
