Also sure, Akari could just be a different timeline of Hikari, nobody is arguing that, but again, nobody has changed names canonically regardless of timelines, the only instance we've ever seen of this is with Gold/Ethan and Kris/Lyra. Hikari is still Hikari regardless of whether she's the Champ or Assistant. What makes the most since is that Akari is Hikari's sister, that actually matches up timeline wise.

If we're under the assumption that Porygon was made 20 years ago and Gen 1 takes place a couple months after in the autumn (based on mansion journals) after, with Fuji fleeing, then we have this timeline.

That easily leaves open the possibility of Dawn/Hikari having had a sister in Year 5, making her 15 by SM, or potentially Year 7 making her 15 by SwSh/SV. It would also make sense if it was Year 5 and she went with Dawn/Lucas to Alola during the Champion's Tournament and we just never happened to see them during it.
