the real issue is that if you treat the first version as the canon one, you get the canon-breaking result of the dragon of truth going to N, which although the actual aesthetic design fits it better, the accompanying lore completely undermines the premise of the story, already severely damaged much much earlier

Fuck Aesthetics, Reshiram is player's dragon. The player is dressed in black, and N is dressed in white. The Aesthetic here is both the dragon and the player colours balancing each other out.

I disagree.

Reshiram's design evokes an angelic quality which aptly reflects N's self-image as a righteous savior and champion of Pokemon. Its tail being a pyre also evokes a ritualistic quality which makes N's grasp of the dragons' lore and summoning plausible.
Again, the sole irony is GameFreak's mistake of labelling it the dragon of truth when N's whole worldview is based on what even GameFreak themselves endorse as lies and misguidance.

Unfortunately I think Zekrom is lacking in any apparent relevant thematic content. It really only fits the male protagonist better by default by way of contrast to the appropriateness of Reshiram to N. I'd advise you reconsider your position in light of that fact, of the ambivalence towards Zekrom based on its plot-moral irrelevance aesthetically.

Nah, both dragons fit N in the story. His entire motivation stems from wanting to prove what has been drilled into his head as the truth- Ghetsis’s ideal- since childhood. His story can be read either as attempting to prove what he sees as factually right or what he sees as morally correct, since he doubts what he has been told after meeting the protagonist’s pokemon and wants to confirm the veracity of his worldview. The game hammers in that it’s all semantics anyway; striving for the truth is itself working toward an ideal, and looking toward the ideal is finding the true solution to an issue. You could argue that the world the protagonist lives in is the true world (world or harmony where pokemon and trainers naturally get along with one another), or the ideal world (pokemon abuse by trainers does exist, but in a perfect world it wouldn’t at all)… but the world Ghetsis prepared for N is neither a true world nor an ideal one.

I havent played these games yet, but I will soon. Im thinking of picking White due to better legendary, and I prefer traditional/old aesthetic for the city with the dragon Gym. But my only gripe with choosing White is

Any ROM hack that barely changes the game, but let you have all exclusive mons? Or should I just use PKHex( Which I owuld use anyways for any transfer-only mons, tbqh)?
Plus I also want to just get 5-6 EXP-Share items, so I get exp for all mons on my team per battle.
