>>57149404>if someone comes up with a strong strat involving Sand Veil, it's your responsibility as a player to find a way to take advantage/stop itIn cases with most strategies, yes, but the more matchups that necessitate counterplay at team building, rather than counterplay during the match itself, the more you encourage matchup fishing.
What do you do to counter Sand Veil strats in gen 3? Well just have Rain Dance or Sunny Day or Hail (lol) to counteract it.
But see how this is a choice you make *at the teambuilder* and not in the actual game. You didn't bring a weather to turn off Sandstorm against a Sand Veil team? Tough shit, now your 100% accurate moves are instead 80% accurate for the entire rest of the game. Oh you're using rock slide? Now it's nearly as inaccurate as fucking Focus Blast.
This is the problem with strategies like Sand Veil and why they're unhealthy, they encourage matchup fishing over actual skill in piloting your team during a game. If you don't come with a team prebuilt with a counter to it, you're probably just going to lose because missing crucial moves is a death sentence in any serious match.
You're rewarded for just putting a move on your team, not for actually doing anything clever or smart during the game itself.
