Haley blinked. Did Mary really think of her that way? She couldn’t tell ifthe Ace Trainer had a thing for girls who’d someone else, a genuine affection for her, or both. She’d always been struck by how attractive her green-haired roommate was, but hadn’t ever seriously considered what it’d be like to be in that kind of relationship with her.
“Um, uh…well…! Y-yeah, maybe I can help you enjoy my new body…” Haley murmured.
“Speak up a little!”
“N-nothing!” Haley’s eyes widened, relieved that her provocative rambling had gone unheard. “Well, I think it’s time for me to go to bed! So goodnight!”
Mary snorted. “Aw, I wanted to hear what you were saying there! You looked like you were showing me a new side of you or something.” She chuckled gently, swiveling back around to face her computer. “Sleep tight!”
Haley smiled as she closed her eyes, quickly drifting off to sleep. There’d be time to address the strange mix of feelings Mary’s affection stirred in her tomorrow…
