>>57160403On the whole this isn't a very good idea because it strips Normal of a lot of useful Special Moves, but for the sake of argument:
Sound type does double duty as describing the physical behavior of sound waves as well as the concept of music and speech in general. As a new type it should also make sense in the context of the existing type matrix which is as of the current gen pretty skewed:
>Super Effective againstSteel (metal resonates strongly with sound)
Water (sound waves travel extreme distances through water)
Dark (music soothes evil souls)
>Not Very Effective againstFire (sound waves have no meaningful interaction with fire)
Flying (air is a poor carrier for sound)
Ice (extreme cold freezes resonators)
Imma be real that last one is mostly just to make Ice a slightly less awful defensive type
>ResistsFairy (music is its own magic separate from fae shenanigans)
Ground (soundwaves travel through the ground)
>Weak againstPsychic (A clear mind pierces sound and fury)
Ghost (Creating eerie stillness)
The last part I'd add because I thought it would be fun if the classical foes of Psychic and Poison happened to be aligned against the same target.
