>>57167194>If you can't catch post Sinnoh mons in the game then a quote about pokemon you can catch in the game shouldn't include post Sinnoh mons. But if it was their intent to say in Gen 8 that unova and kalos are part of the same country in question, surely they would remove the "all over the country" part of the quote since that'd be false, but they did not.
>ORAS has the national dexWhich doesn't imply it's in the same country as every other region with a National Dex, yes.
>You have no basisI'm not the one pushing a claim, only trying to understand yours and pointing out what parts fall apart logically.
>But Kalos and Unova do share the same, just updated with the newer mons. But how do you know that it is issued by the same nation as one another?
>If "national" meant a different country each timeI'm not saying this either. I'm saying we just don't know when the term is being used to refer to which country. Logically speaking, it can be simultaneously true that the "Jap" regions are referring to the same one, while Unova and Kalos are referring to different ones, all while they all have all mons at that point because that's the point of compiling a National Dex in-game and in-universe.
>they use the same national dexAgain, how do you know it's the same nation being referred to? Cedric is referring to how many mons are in the dex of his nation at that point in time, as in in reference to the National Dex. You're leapfrogging and assuming said something like "there ARE 600 pokemon species originally discovered in our nation"
>yes you didThat was in reference to when you said
>>57165562 "The later ones might be but we aren't told" which certainly entertains the idea of there only being one country.
When I said I didn't say that, I meant I didn't say XY were the last games, which I indeed never actually said.
>This impliesYes, I care about canonicity, which is why I don't assume every place using a word is the same place.
