I would absolutely love to and plan to, but I want to finish the main series first.

I say Yi-Yi is a frequent dreamer, she is the person who says "I had the weirdest dream last night!" Her dream recall is crazy, but doesn't look into the meaning of them all too much. She could have the 'teeth falling out' dream and think nothing of it. Most of her dreams are about bugs or cotton candy, she drools alot.

I am no longer burnt out!!!

The story was told out of order because I was making all of it up as I went, you know I don't do outlines, now it's organized in the pastebin so that plot reveals in the mainline episodes aren't spoiled by stories written after the fact. ie, The Visionary is posted after episode 2 so as not to tip the reader off to the subverted premise established in episode 1.
Chronologically, I think it's pretty straightforward: Phos's childhood stories (So Overrated, Growing Pains, the Luke crossover), Azelie's childhood story takes place maybe roughly around the same time Phos first catches Scraggy; then the Visionary, Perfect Strangers, the Dossier, L'Epidemie Dansante, the Furia crossover, then the main narrative begins with episode 1. Episode 5 and Urban Legends bounce backward and forward but that doesn't seem to be an issue?
Alex, am I forgetting anything?

I don’t have a fucking clue. Nothing about the last three suggests that they’re before the main narrative but I suppose they wouldn’t be out of place being as such, for the sake of flexibility. I guess that places all of my fan stuff before the main narrative except for the beginning and ending of The Follow-Up.

You’re the one in control of the timeline, not me. I don’t think I would know if anything was off besides the aforementioned stories that weren’t really suggested to be in a particular place in time. I would suggest doing a Gerard cameo if that’s still possible, or bringing back the guy with the Aggron and having him go Mega as a miniboss before facing Franco. Oh yeah, that reminds me.

E-Chan was the one who suggested this idea, though I'm of the opinion that episode 1 is literally perfect in every way except for using the wrong tense of backwards and forwards. 2 could use some tidying up, so on. Instead of adding more content, I would want to add more context. Drop stronger clues for future details and tie more recent information back into older works. I can't really elaborate on that without going into unmarked spoiler territory, but take my word for it. Weaving a major plot detail from Urban Legends into the end of episode 4 and hinting at it sooner with some grunt chatter so the whole story feels a little more cohesive and I can pretend I planned it all along, to give a very vague example.

I take it you didn't read the fake leak for episode 7? That scene tunnels its way into the story more and more as we dive into the climax.

Speaking of dreams, to answer the TQ:

Luke dreams are vivid survival situations during or after large natural disasters, or of him rescuing a person or Pokémon who needs it. They're always vivid cinematic and the scary ones stay with him for a while.

Midge: Midge rarely dreams but when she does they reflect the version of her she wishes she could express.

Sylvie: mostly vivid and color lucid dreams. She enjoys sleeping a lot because of this.

Amandanon here, I figured it was time to try my hand at someone younger. He doesn't have a name yet, but based on my rolls:

I'm not entirely sure what to think about this one. I might change either his proudest achievement or his tier, considering they don't really match up. Or I may scrap this idea entirely for either my old idea of Pokemon in Space, or a spinoff following one of Amanda's students after they grow up. Any of these ideas will have to wait until after I finish A Teacher's Troubles, though. Wouldn't want to spread myself too thin, after all.

The dice rolls are really just there if you have absolutely no clue of what to work with, you can pick and choose traits.
But I can see the premise here.
Why does he hate Normal-Types? Maybe because he thinks they're weak or too ordinary, or maybe his claim to fame was saving a town from a pack of rampaging Vigoroth or an Exploud that invited itself in and now he's leery around normals.
Sandslash, Crobat, and (Mega?) Mawile would be a pretty strong core that would sweep through most of the Hoenn League, so him having the potential to be Champion-tier isn't too far off the mark.
Give it some thought.

For Ruka I imagine she's basically playing Pokemon heartgold backwards, starting in Kanto. Also Jynx is her following pokemon. Battles probably look like a mix of heartgold battles with some of the details from gen 6 battles like trainer splash screens when battles are initiated and finished.

Strange. Full of places that are both familiar but alien at the same time. Sometimes completely alien. Often dreams about traveling, going down long roads in the countryside by car. Sometimes her dreams involve combat, sometimes she is exploring alien, completely unfamiliar places by foot, sometimes she's having a flying dream, except she never falls down until she was about to wake up anyway. But most recently she has found her mind pulled out into the cosmos itself, adrift in space as her mind fills with thoughts and ideas. Or more accurately it's been happening more often as she has gotten acclimated to Infinity Energy. It happened once in a blue moon as she grew up, but it happened at least once every few months once she got Mawlie and her energy began to truly grow and physically alter her.

Cause again, she started as a child with black hair, amber eyes and otherwise was just a rough little brat that got in fights and stayed out late a lot. But making contact with Mawlie at 8 years old changed everything. The contact triggered something and her hair began to slowly become white and at one point or another her eyes became a deep, sapphire blue. That trigger caused her mind to drift into the cosmos when she slept once every few months, ideas filling her mind as she drifted further and further from the mindsets and thought processes of fellow humans and became this alien entity who's eyes are glued to the sky while everyone else's eyes are to the ground, focusing on their earthly concerns.

And then came the 'dream' involving the Furia anon that I chose to implement, in which she got that book she now has that slowly fills up with knowledge about Infinity Energy.

Ever since then, her mind has fallen into the cosmos several times a month, filling her mind with otherworldly contemplations in between dreams full of otherworldly places and events...

Her dreams and contemplations range from the surreal to the more ordinary. But no matter what her mind is always thinking on that alien level, her concerns far removed from the norm of humankind as to her it feels like information is flowing into her mind from somewhere else. Sometimes about Infinity Energy and the nature of it, sometimes something else as her mind is quite literally visited by the something from the outside. The most common dream of course simply being her floating in space, thinking, contemplating, feeling as she looks down at the Earth below.

This of course impacts her in her waking moments and causes onlookers to feel like she exists in a seperate reality from everyone else. Something people often cannot find the words to describe beyond that point. Like as if she's seeing real-life through a different lens than everyone else.

In terms of unhinged dreams it's hard to discern what does and does not count as such. Simply because regardless of if it involves violence or not, her dreams are simply outlandish to the point some people would call ALL of them unhinged.

Louis hasn't really have very memorable dreams in recent years, mostly just the normal type of processing ones you'd expect of people. That's all the dreams he has and has ever had, and he'll fight you if you try to imply otherwise.

When he was younger, though, he did *claim* to have a recurring dream of being a beedrill dreaming he was a person, but that can be chalked up to him being in a chuuni phase and wanting to sound cooler than he really was. It's also what led to his actual starter, a larger Weedle, being nicknamed 'Gu', rather than something more normal.

David doesn't have many dreams really. Ever since he served in the army, he goes to sleep, closes eyes, opens eyes, and is back to the grind. The only reoccurring dream he has is a warning one: if he dreams he is removing one of his teeth (usually the one at the left of his right canine), he knows that day something is going to happen. Something bad.
Not something dramatic like "he is dead" or "everyone is sick", but something will happen that will grind his gears, and he will have to be in his best mood to overcome it.

Because at one moment David is dancing with Zynthia in a shared dream, and the next she is kissing a Swampert, so she ends up waking up screaming "eww!", and him going "I shouldn't have use my powers today."

I like the way you did the shadows in that Dream Eater; that vibrant blend of purples, magentas, and blues. I also appreciate the surrealist details in the thought bubble. It could be a brick wall decorated with graffiti and ivy with a city skyline in the backdrop, or those could be waves breaking against the shoreline with pockets of dune grass sprouting out of the sand.

Nope. Krookodile is big muscle, like >>57197167 here. It's not really an underdog kind of fighter, nor is it particularly tricky. Having Krookodile around would just make Scrafty redundant while offering less opportunity for characterization.

Well that's rude. That story is length of a full novel and he wrote it in one year. You don't understand how impressive that is. What he has achieved in terms of sheer productivity is amazing. There are published authors whose full-time job is writing that cannot match that level of output. This is a personal project that he's been dedicating his spare time to in between work and all his other obligations. So what if he is one chapter away from completion? So what if he doesn't complete that final chapter this month? Under whose metrics are we determining success or failure here? It's not a failure by any sense of the word if a personal project takes longer than anticipated or desired. He can take his sweet time finishing the story, just like he could have taken his sweet time writing it if he wanted or needed to. It’s impressive yeah but it’s also kind of disappointing to see him forefront all of his momentum. He was REALLY close to finishing off the year with a bang and then all of a sudden he just drops it to assemble some compilation that he could have assembled at any time. It’s kind of like how Game of Thrones had a season each year except for its final season which took two years to produce and sucked (although I don’t really expect EIF’s ending to suck)

At this point in time, I just need to unfuck Tweny, Silas, Ayumu, Miko/Ivy, Amanda, Hasumi, and Luke. Or about 245/782 pages.
Among many, many other errors, the document getting corrupted turned any word starting with "po" into "po|" and ate whichever word followed it.
You can imagine how much trouble a glitch like that would cause in a doorstopper full of Pokemon fiction.

Tradition carried over from traditional art. Light colors are easier to erase (also why some sketch in red), and/or they use a color that wouldn't show up when the page is scanned.
Digitally there's not exactly a benefit aside from differentiating the sketch lines from the lineart, but it's not super necessary given you can freely change layer opacity, so any color will do.

In traditional drawing, it's because blue is a very easy color to work with and can be colored over without it bleeding through too much. This is why Ultramarines are the poster boys for Warhammer--anyone can slap together a Space Marine model, paint it blue, and have it look presentable. Even in digital art, drawing is an iterative process, you will usually draw the first draft to have an idea of what the final product is supposed to look like, then draw the second draft over the first draft to achieve what the final product should look like.

I don't think you would really need an AI for that, would you? Not entirely at least. There's tons of resources online and guides on how to play a one-man RPG or cobble together a romhack scenario. There's really no need to pretty it up if you're the only one using it, right? Randomizers, seeded runs in Rogue Emerald, God-given fantasy?
I think an AI would really only be useful for giving character to the type of person whose headspace you just can't comprehend, but it would trip itself up trying to remember a whole campaign.

Despite claiming not to be a writer, bibi king had the most contributions, with 14 fanfics (mostly participating in crossover events). Thanks for being the heart of the team.
Unsurprisingly, the longest single section goes to Gilded Platinum, at 68 pages. Emily's Transcendence takes 2nd place only on a technicality--if both chapters were released as a single document, they would have a combined 70 pages.
Hasumi anon had the shortest individual contribution, at just 4 pages of writing.

I have very bad news for you and for once it's actually not an inaccuracy on my part.
The title of B0 is incorrect. Tesoro is not featured in that document, but all of Bibi's other OCs are.
Furthermore, here's another "accolade". Out of all of the OCs featured, Kingu is the only OC which, to my knowledge, has no artwork made of them, not even a picrew or AI image.

It isn't neighborly to disparage other threads, and you'd be wise to follow suit. They have their own wants and goals to work toward, and that's enough. Our focus is on longform content, and that's a big commitment to ask of anyone under any circumstance, let alone each day and week indefinitely. These things take time.
Regardless, you have a pretty overinflated idea of just how big a place /vp/ is. I would say there's maybe 100 active users on this board at any given time. More to the point, there are active measures being taken each and every single day to try and stifle discussions held here and demoralize people to choke board traffic.
And, in spite that, our numbers speak for themselves. We are undeniably the fastest-moving thread on /vp/. No other general comes and goes as quickly as ours, we have never once been archived prematurely without first reaching a consensus, and yet we always have at least a dozen new pieces of artwork to add to the archives at the end of each thread's lifespan. When getting one thousand people to see your writing is a major accomplishment for an indie writer, our writefag pastebin has logged 4,068 unique IP visits and we've never once advertised beyond our own thread (at least I haven't).
So buck up, crybaby, you are one very lucky anon.

I remember when I got commended over the dream sequence in Dragon Whisperer Ep 1. It wasn’t this grand plan for me, but the whole Reshiram and Zekrom bait-and-switch seemed interesting to some. I’m bringing this up because Koa’s dreams are either super simple, I.E. having a picnic with his team, eating a lot of candy, or super complex where he’s stuck in the myths that have been passed down to him for generations. However, Koa’s also recently started to dream about living an office life in Castelia City and that’s very unpleasant for him.

A suit? As in, a suit and tie? He’d probably be very uncomfortable but he’d do his best. You see, his poncho is special. It’s been passed down through his family and his grandfather was especially fond of it. Koa got his mom to sew pants with a similar pattern, but she messed it up slightly and the yellow scales are IN the dark grey part. Covering my ass by giving that imperfection a in-universe explanation, hehe. So Koa usually prefers light clothes and rarely ever needs to wear anything more complex, but provided he has to go to a special occasion of some kind he’d put on the suit, but he’d look stressed out all the time while giving you an awkward smile like “I’m okay, I promise”. Remind me to doodle that for you later.

I'll chime in too since I forgot the OP was there.
When Phos was a little girl, she used to dream about the skyscrapers of Castelia City a lot--either being on top of them or the towers being impossibly high compared to a tiny child. Sometimes she would fall from the top or try to fly or they wouldn't have anything to do with the dream but would show up regardless. As an older kid, her dreams revolved around the usual school anxiety and taking it out on the classmates unlucky enough to appear in her dreams.
Franco's mind is always spinning with thoughts, ideas, decompressing from a busy day or thinking about all the things he still needs to take care of--too many to count. Recently, all of his dreams have been interrupted by a pair of large blue eyes staring at him. They never do anything, they just stare at him and it irritates the hell out of him.
Almost all of Azelie's dreams are lucid. She often dreams of the Lumiose nightlife or frolicking in the woods with her fairy friends. Oddly enough, when she recounts these dreams later, the fairies seem to already be familiar with them...
This just makes the rare nightmares where she's naked in public or forced to sing out loud all the more stressful for her until she wakes up.

How does your OC take their coffee? If they don't drink coffee what is their alternative? Additionally, what's their morning Routine?

Luke: he drinks black instant coffee out of whatever mug is available. Assuming he's out camping/on the road, Luke usually wakes up first and then starts his morning by checking on how his Pokémon slept and making sure they eat breakfast before he sits down to make some for himself. He'll drink his coffee and wait for the others to wake (if he hasn't woken them up by this point unintentionally).

Midge: Midge only drinks coffee that's more sugar than anything else because she doesn't like bitter flavors all that much. Midge is a morning shower type gal, so it's the first thing she does. Afterwards she picks up around the RV if it needs it and makes a microwave meal for herself before tending to her Pokémon.

Audrey doesn't function until she's had coffee. She's usually very tired in the mornings. Her sleep often gets agitated by her pokemon, so she needs the coffee to get up and do things. She's a slow riser and likes to laze about before doing anything, though. She's just overall not very good at mornings, she's more of a night owl in general.

Emily and Arai pick whatever isn't outright sweet. Usually something watermelon or lemon flavored. Mari picks sweet stuff like Strawberry and such. As for sharing with their Pokemon...all 3 girls tank caffeine like bears and need every bit of what's in each of their cans that they can get so they don't share. Not to mention that it's likely not safe for a lot of Pokemon to drink and the ones that it would be safe for, it'd still be a bad idea to give to them. Especially Tinkaton. You just DO NOT give THAT any sort of caffeine ever.

When he works night shifts, he used to drink coffee to recover, but drinking too much coffee made him inmune to caffeine. This was so bad even energy drinks no longer work. If he is tired, he is most likely to start headbanging.
He is trying to find other things, like natural teas or more healthy beverages. But no luck.
So everytime he "feels" is going to start, he moves around and washes his face. So far progress is slow, but at least positive.

Once a month Silas will take a sailing yacht up north and hike up to Fallarbor Town to buy the local whole coffee beans. The volcanic ash content lends to a smoky, heavy bodied flavor for the perfect dark roast.

We hate coffee. We don't really even need to get caffeinated but if for some reason we did then it would be tea or matcha (I tried matcha that my aunt brought me and I liked it). I looked through several bands to see what mugs they had. Watain and Fleshgod Apocalypse looked like cheap designs so I went with Behemoth because it actually looks like a quality mug.

A belated happy New Year, and Merry Christmas, and whatever I've missed, /tog/. As it turns out I've been out of commission for the season, first due to college and then due to personal matters so I haven't gotten to do shit. If nothing else, I've made up my mind to reduce the scope of my writing and keep things simple to start off before deciding whether I feel confident enough to send my Merry in a bigger adventure.

Oh yeah he definitely will have one of these. I think real life experiences for trainers like sailing or cooking are completely transferable to battling in a narrative. Like a Miyagi-esque kind of regimen that predisposes some types of work/careers for working with Pokemon instead of the head on approach of gunning for champion. You've likely heard of it, but Seaglass has been very comfy. Volbeat is finally natively Bug/Electric. I got an Illumise (which is Bug/Fairy and also very cool) with Prankster, but breeding doesn't seem like hidden abilities get passed. I've gotten this bugger some egg moves and IVs, but that's as far as I can get it for now.
Once gym 4 or 5 is completed, ability patches are available for Prankster.

One time my boss wanted me to cover an employee who was sick and couldn't go to work. Problem is that it was one of those weeks you work 6 12 hours days, and have ONE day off.
At first I said yes, but the trip back home was such bullshit (someone tried to mug me while I was unaware, everyone was pushing me around inside an overfilled train, and cherry on top: i hit my head inside the bus because the fucking driver clutched the brakes due to an asshole cutting him mid road).
Needless to say, I called back and said "can't go, is my day off anyway, and I feel like shit, sorry". He even tried saying "if yo7 cover him mid day, maybe I can find somebody".
Answer was the same. Learn to say "no", guys. Sometimes, (you) are more important than the rest.

Completely unrelated subject, but does anyone have any possible ideas for cover art for Black Blaze? I was thinking either some open black space like EIF 5's cover might be good if I don't want any spoilers at all, but I also don't want to get accused of stealing. A sad office woman. She works a soul-crushing accounting job for Macro Cosmos and is regularly stepped on by bother her peers and higher-ups. Unlike Nyx, however (because she’s the only one that I can kind of compare to this), she never gains the courage to stand up for herself and is a perpetual corporate doormat. Life continually beats her until she’s roughly age 40, when she gets laid off, hears about her only friend passing away from cancer later that same day, and promptly kills herself. While she’s alive, she repeatedly jokes about how she would be dead if it weren’t for her Sinistea and Flittle. Her storyline was thought up after I heard about “Nakige”, a subgenre of visual novel with tragic endings that are intended to depress the reader. However, I am considering scrapping this because it’s too similar to Merry or whoever was who was going to make a region based off of the Atlanta area.

I may as well bring up that chunni concept based off of the old Poke Maniac. He’s in his last year of high school and is a 19 year old “super senior”, but has the mental maturity of a 15-16 year old. I can’t do visual kei because 1. That idea’s already taken and 2. I don’t know anything about visual kei, so instead, he belongs to the nu-metal subculture that was prominent in the early 2000s. I don’t know what Pokemon he’ll have yet. He’s an outcast and has little success with women but isn’t an intense clit chaser like Alto. I’m not sure how his story will start but I’m sure of how it will end: he gets browbeaten by his peers into becoming a normal person. From there, one of two things will happen, either he flunks out of high school because his single mother dies in a car accident and is no longer there to force him to go to school, or he gets on his knees, and begs the principal while crying to let him pass, which he agrees to do on the condition that he gives away his guitar. Either way he goes on to work at a gas station.

You at least have some moderately good lewd with Metamorphosis/Emergence. And in the end you understood: while some choices can be blame on Saki for being dumb, most of the story makes clear that thrusting yourself into the darkness will only end in tragedy. Hell, I would say the worst part is realizing it wasn't even Saki's "tragedy", it was an illusion before she dies of OD.

I like when bad stories end more in "he has earned his rest, even if he didn't accomplished his goal" like "In The Grey" or "Lisa". Or "empty yet fullfilling", like SMT 1: you killed your friends, you lost your friends and family, and the world will never be the same. And yet, you stopped both forces for a moment, you stand tall at the top of the hill, and you may be crying, but is over. And that's all that matters. Now things can flow to a better tomorrow.
I don't need to be reminded of Lisa: the Joyful or SMT 2, I know how those end too.

I get the feeling that even in it's incomplete state, Emily's fit >>57199813 would be too complex for a Pokemon Trainer sprite and this reference gonna get more detail before it's actually completed by the artist I commissioned too.

If you just want simple recoloring/additions to normal sprites that is absolutely no problem.

I'd say it'd be better if the one for Mawlie would be from scratch since the normal sprites for a Mawile has them facing their maw towards the target and Mawlie just doesn't do that and faces forward.

Mawlie kinda has a look like this, but minus the small hairbow between her head and that maw. She also tends to put up a tough looking, icy demeanor like her trainer does, wears a tattered, worn out Muscle Band like a scarf, and she has large, bulky lower arms to the arms/hands of a Tinkaton-- her arms getting big and bulky around the part of the arms where the black part of the pattern comes in while her upper arms are more normal Zoroark's arms is a good example of this.
