It turns out the boss fight is actually quite easy when palmer doesn't buttfuck your entire team and force you to resort to using a special attacking zubat and 2 frillish against a dark-type
(salt cure helped too)

Assuming Fuuo is the final boss of this mode, he's a significantly easier final fight than either Kyogre, Hoopa, or Anthony in their respective modes; just click rock buttons and he drops pretty unceremoniously. I'm surprised his types weren't split between multiple phases like the Kanto birds were to mitigate the x4 weakness.
