Runerigus, Claydol and Golurk should all be Rock. They're made out of clay. Not WET unsculpted clay, they're made out of the finished product. You make bricks with clay. It's a hard material, it's clearly a fucking rock.

Althought I like the idea of Runerigus being Ghost/Dragon (because of the serpent painting)

The had a boner for single type pokemon in Gen 8 for some reason, both Corsola/Cursola and Runerigus could've been Ghost/Rock type but noooooo they wanted to be retarded.

If we change clay to being rock instead of ground, like it has always been in Pokemon, then we no longer have a Ground/Psychic pokemon, because claydol and baltoy are the only ones

None of the Pokédex entries even mention that Runerigus is made out of clay. The runestones that it's based on weren't either. It should fully just be Ghost/Rock.

It's much more poignant if it loses both its identity-giving types and becomes a mono type of a different color.
They wanted to communicate "this isn't the living Corsola anymore, actually, so the types are also completely different".
