Well I'm gonna want something to eat and some place to sleep so I don't die, so my best bet is to pick berries and look for things to sell to Poke Marts to buy clothes and supplies and food. If an apartment or house is too much then buy camping supplies until I can gather enough money to have a more permanent place to live.

Can't stay at a Pokemon Center without any pokemon, so my first action would be to get myself some pokeballs even if it means pawning of my jacket, phone, and anything else I might have on me when getting transported. Hopefully, there's like a Caterpie or Wurmple nearby, or a loafy Bidoof, as they are guarantee gets when compared to stuff like Taillow and Zigzagoon.

Assuming I'm in a town, I could probably look around in garbage cans for Pokéballs that have been disposed of. I could also ask around, something like "hey I wanna catch my first Pokémon, any advice on what to do/where to go?" If I get given advice, I'd follow it, then hopefully get my first Pokémon.
