>>57231520in bw2, the shadow triad tells hugh that pokeballs control pokemon, but it’s just to manipulate him, liepard is hostile because of the time that’s passed, not the poke ball, when N talks about "the oppression of poke balls" he likely means trainers are forced to use them and wishes for a world where they aren’t needed (he says something similar in masters about wanting pokémon to be with trainers more often and less in poke balls). it feels odd for GF to push "poke balls are evil" but still have you use them normally, as if that were true, the player would still be a jerk after the story ends
