>>57230340Brock and Misty are advising Ash to use a Pokemon more experienced with battling... like Pikachu. It's a perfectly sensible stance for them to take. Krabby/Kingler just turned out far more competent than anyone (including Ash) really anticipated. Likewise, Kingler being weak against aerial attacks isn't supported by video game mechanics, but looking at the physical reality of the situation in the anime world, that kinda makes sense. Kingler doesn't seem like the most fast and nimble Pokemon around, so sending out something that can match the opponent in speed instead seems like a sound choice (especially if it has a type advantage like Pikachu against Golbat). If there's anything in the episode that seems a little iffy, it's Ash and Kingler pulling Hyper Beam out of their ass immediately after evolution. Hyper Beam ought to be characterised as a high-level move that requires practice, seeing as how outside of Pokemon who learn it naturally by level up, it's mostly learned by fully evolved Pokemon through TM. At least the anime didn't go completely against that by implying Krabby already knew it before evolving.
