The videogames are less than 15% of Pokemon Company's income, if memory serves. I think 13%.
The videogames and the anime are essentially marketing money that they spend to promote the real breadwinner: The merch.
Plushies, pens, pins, and everything that can have a Pikachu on it are what Pokemon Company lives on, not the games.
If the games are garnering negative feelings, this can possibly impact the plushie sales and they WILL respond to that if it gets bad.
If the games and the anime are making people think "Pokemon kinda sucks now" they will do something about it once the negative impressions start impacting the merch sales.
Why can Inteleon, Incineroar and Quaquaval look like shit?
Because their base forms sell gangbusters as plushies anyway, they don't care if Stage 3 looks like a NAMBLA member.
Litten sold gangbusters as a plushie so Gen9 makes green Litten and that sells like gangbusters too.
