The joke being that all the previous stuff she still technically applies to the Machamp too, but the way it was said would make you think she was talking about a human. So when the Machamp is revealed, it's meant to be funny/shocking, because you're made to believe she was talking about a human but instead she meant a Machamp and like with the Water Stone example the idea of her and the Machamp being a romantic couple is absurd.
The idea of a romantic relationship between a Pokémon and a human is itself a joke.
