Yeah. This is the most excited I've been for a Pokemon game in a long time. The only thing that has me nervous is that apparently it takes place in just Lumiose, which sounds pretty limited. But I'd like to see what that really entails when we get more information. I was a fan of the GTA series and those games generally took place in just a city, I'm just not accustomed to that from Pokemon.

Yes and no.
Yes because XY is the only entry in the series that never got any update and it could really use some love. Its about time it got something extra.

No because we have no idea whats going on with the game. I'd like to think they're simply polishing the game and waiting for Pokemon Day to have a big reveal but its GF so it might be some serious issues behind the scenes given that we've never had a situation like this before when they simply stopped giving us ANY updates.

I guess we'll find out in a month. It sure has been a long wait

Yeah but the release schedule was different back then. Plus they jumped to a new console. Not to mention it was 20 years ago. GF and their marketing strategy were completely different

GF's marketing strategy changed as recently as Gen 7-->8 too because of all the leaking, they used to show nearly everything for the 3DS era but for the Switch era they've been way more tight-lipped to leave more surprises for those hoping to go in blind

True but they stll gave us pretty regular updates regardless. Look at Legends Arceus. Its reveal gave us gameplay trailer, starters, protagonists 11 months before release.

PLA was on the Switch so there was nothing to wait on, PLZA is coinciding with Switch 2, which we only just got the official reveal for
Notice it's really just a trailer for an April trailer, because they wanted to get something out about the Switch 2 before Pokemon Day in February

It could be for both consoles but lsst year they confirmed its for Switch one. Whether it gets a 2 exclusive version is yet to be seen

It will be for both consoles, but they'd want to show footage for it from the Switch 2 to better promote it, as opposed to just Switch footage that could jeopardize the reaction, given previous reactions to Switch gameplay trailers for Pokemon games

You use your critical thinking skills and get a clue of why the fuck would Nintendo announce Switch 2 exists because of a Pokémon tittle revealed ONE YEAR AGO. They did this because
1) leaks were getting out of hand and could lead to a bad public reception
2) Nintendo promised to is shareholders they would get news about it before March 2025

Pokemon had an imperative to let people know there wouldn't be a mainline game for 2024 while still giving people something new to look forward to, Nintendo would only hurt themselves the earlier they revealed the Switch 2 because of its impact on Switch/adjacent sales, both benefited from longer dev time
