We didn't need more turtles. Between turtles and monkeys they should rename the franchise Monkeys Versus Turtles. Stop with the turtles. It's a nice looking turtle but we already had Blastoise. Actually this one would be okay as a fossil version of Blastoise but that's it. Why did we need six hundred more freaking turtles? What do they add?

I like it. Used one in BW a few months ago. Not a fan of Mystery Dungeon but when I was playing with my ex’s copy of Super I really enjoyed the foster father for your partner being Carracosta.

gives me fond memories of my childhood playing gen 5. Of the 2 times I tried using him in Unova he underperformed compared to the rest of my team, so his existence serves as a gentle piece of my past, back when the 2d games felt new and fascinating. Maybe Ill use him again someday, and finally forget that bittersweet feeling of nostalgia.

I kinda get it, its based on Archelon which yes is just "big sea turtle" but it does have the standout trait of having a huge hooked beak which Carracosta alludes to in pokedex entries saying how much it crunches through hard shelled prey and bones.

Cool design, but as a physical tank, it always felt like it gets heavily outclassed in its debut games to the point of irrelevancy.
BW has an exorbitant amount of options when it comes to dealing with physical threats, and as the fossil counterpart Archeops is usually easier to fit in teams with that amazing typing for a glass cannon.

Cool guy, always loved the design of the rock shell and the nice color palette. But as a physical tank, it always felt like it got heavily outclassed in its debut games to the point of irrelevancy, even with the Solid Rock ability.
