The problem with Sun is that Grass is a dogshit type that is also weak to Fire meaning Sun is extra lethal. There aren't any non-Grass Chlorophyll users, and Chlorophyll was the only real ability to make use of Sun until Protosynthesis. Leaf Guard is a bottom 10 ability in the game even on a Sun team and Solar Power is only good in Gen 8 VGC for Charizard Sun nukes.

Hail and Snow are still shit to this day even with Slush Rush added. They basically only exist for Aurora Veil.

Hail's biggest problem is that nothing wants it that isn't an Ice type. So Hail teams are by default mono Ice teams that are forced to run 2-3 other things that don't really want to be there just to avoid being swept.

Sun has almost the same problem, but Protosynthesis was a step in the right direction.

Sun at least boosts the power of Fire moves and reduces the power of Water moves. That means you can bring Ground and Rock types on Sun teams since they don't fear Water in the Sun. Same idea as bringing Steel and Grass types on Rain teams.

Hail/Snow and Sand don't actually boost the power of any moves. Hail boosts the accuracy of Blizzard and that's it. No power boost for any of those Pokemon.

Tera Blast being banned seperately makes sense since some of the “Pokemon banned because of Tera” were banned because of Tera Blast (Espathra, Regieleki, and Volcarona being most prominent). It is like Hidden Power, but it has twice the effective power and can be physical too.

Espathra and Volcarona could end up banned even without Tera Blast. Just being able to change types give them so many opportunities to play mindgames and sweep. There's some sense behind dealing with Tera Blast alone but the thing is that you're not dealing with the root of the evil which is Tera itself. Council doesn't want to deal with Tera because le drastic change and meta identity which I understand, specially when there's still supporters defending Tera as a mechanic but there's a very strong movement against keeping Tera in the metagame as shown with the Nat Dex suspect. Anyway, you need to have autism to thing that much about competitive Pokémon and even more so to take part of a council about competitive Pokémon so honestly, just let the turbo autists be autistic, I'm not mentally prepared to argue that much about this topic with them.

They're strong. It's not an obsession. Not using entry hazards in singles is like not using Protect/Fake Out/Ally Switch/Helping Hand/Follow Me/Rage Powder in doubles.

The only Ice types that are good are the fast and hard hitting ones that are still busted even if they can only switch in twice. Most Ice types are not Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, or Galarian Darmanitan.

Baxcalibur was already a beefcake, but the bonus defense from Snow and Aurora Veil made it tanky enough that it could switch in on Stealth Rocks and eat a Close Combat and still have gas in the tank.

Bax could eat the strongest Close Combat in the meta on the switch in, set up Swords Dance, and then sweep. It was absolutely ridiculous, especially because it could always Tera if it was afraid of its Ice type being a hindrance.

Dragapult is almost as busted. It's not as potent, but it's much more versatile and did get itself banned in Gen 8 NatDex because of it having access to Z-moves. Overall:

Baxcalibur > Dragapult > Dragonite > Garchomp > Kommo-o > Tyranitar > Metagross > Hydreigon > H-Goo > Salamence > Goo

This is for the current gen, not taking into account their peaks in other gens.

Gen 9 UU is about on par with Gen 8 OU in terms of power. It's full of past-gen OU and Ubers staples. There's a reason Manaphy, Haxorus, Hydreigon, Thundurus, Chansey, Bisharp, Gengar, Jirachi, Mamoswine, Magnezone, Mimikyu, G-Zapdos, and SUICUNE fell out of the tier.

Balance being for doubles only is a shitty meme. For one, Game Freak regularly fucks up the balance of doubles. They've been having more and more overcentralized metas because of things like Flutter Mane and Calyrex. Meanwhile, they've made plenty of balance changes for singles, like Heavy Duty Boots, nerfing recovery moves, and nerfing mythicals that will never see the light of day in VGC (Mew, Darkrai, etc).

Game Freak is just shit at balancing, so fags who only peripherally follow comp think that they're making singles shit on purpose while focusing on doubles. That couldn't be further from the truth. GF just can't balance anything properly.
