Gen V is probably hard to remake because it's the only set of games that have proper sequel games.
All other third-versions play like Alt stories, B2W2 have continuity and actively build off of and make changes from BW.
Remaking BW would just leave you with Black and White again.

As a die hard Unovafag, I found it a blessing to be "skipped" after BDSP. I fucking hated Sinnoh and even I felt kind of bad for Sinnohfags.

Imagine spending like a decade hoping for DPPT remakes with reimagined designs and new mechanics for your favorite region and instead you don't even manage to get a remake of the game that makes your generation remotely tolerable. Just embarrassing, and that's why you don't hear anyone asking for Gen 5 remakes. The shit they would cut from the game for the sake of easy development would leave it a shell of itself. Count me the fuck out.

The Legends games only leapt to Kalos in order to get newer fans acclimated with Mega Evolution in the mainline games (remember, most of them got onboard within this very platform era and thus have only played with Megas in GO at best) by bringing Megas into a dedicated game with simpler gameplay.
This is so they can prepare them for the concept before reintroducing the mechanic to its fullest in Gen 10 as part of Pokemon's grand 30th anniversary bash (albeit as a postgame mechanic, since Gen 10 will very obviously have its own gimmick), where there will be even more Mega Evolutions that likely hinge on having LZA Save Data to unlock.

I said they'd take the SM approach (hey, look, ANOTHER anniversary game!) of featuring Mega Evolution in the POSTGAME while the main campaign of Gen 10 got all the time it wanted to show off the shiny new gimmick.
Both would obviously disappear after Gen 10, but it still stands as clear and relevant that Mega Evolution is going to have its place in Pokemon's 30th anniversary, so it'll find its way into Gen 10 in some capacity (i.e. the most important capacity there is for hardcore players who would appreciate Mega Evolution's return the most, that being VGC and PVP).

Nah it feels good desu. After seeing the visual train wreck that was BDSP, I'm glad it got the Legends treatment with full scale models instead of the chibi bullshit. Yeah it still had them during battles but that makes the choice to go chibi even more fucking stupid since the models litterally exist in game. So why not just use them?

The 3ds had nearly the same scale with SM/USUM and that was nearly a decade ago. There should no be a reason at all to regress that idea now.

Unova has too many thematics, and the game differs between the Black and White versions to the point where modern vs traditional are one of the clashing thematics, with Zekrom representing the modern advancements brought with electricity and Reshiram representing the traditional ways of the fire of old, a Legends game for Unova is, to put it mildly, overtly ambitious if not impossible

It is a rehash, retarded child. That's why, despite TPCi calling it a sequel in 2012, Game Freak turned right around in 2020 and equated it to all the other rehash versions, as examples of "new titles set in the same region as previous games" when announcing they were killing the rehash model to move to producing DLC for the new Gen pairs.
You should write to TPCi though, tell them their marketing efforts continue to work, making people like you disbelieve the devs of the property because they didn't like the message.

You're not getting much else but BDSP but Gen 5 anon. Game Freak not doing remakes any longer means any studios contracted are going to be placed under the same constraints as ILCA were "keep it visually similar to the original, but in 3D" and just like BDSP didn't add "all pogeymans up to the 7th generation" or even include Sylveon, when Game Freak added it to Legends should tell you DBVW will only have the roster up to end of Gen 5, just as BW didn't have anything from gen 6 forward.

Believe me or don't, but you need to be aware from Game Freak's own mouth, they've divested themselves of remakes, just as they stopped adding RNG halls and stopped supporting transfer of every existing pokémon from game-to-game. Whoever's tasked with them (not expecting to see Kojima-level studios take the reigns, more ILCA, if not that new pokémon studio founded by TPC) will have two years, no more and won't get the opportunity to make them with a more adult audience in mind. Almost as if they didn't want to marginalise the originals even further in their efforts to re-dress them for modern children by making the new forms objectively better by giving them stronger stats. They wanted to make sidegrades, a different way to play with the things rather than the ONLY way to play with the pokémon.

Remakes were done as a concept with HGSS, that's why they were "greedy with the features", they weren't planning another and certainly not of the scope of HGSS. they outright stated they weren't planning on remaking Hoenn until they saw the internet asking for one and gave 'em what they asked for in the constraints they had, lots of re-used XY features and problematic lore additions that ultimately got ignored by TPC in Gen 8. And then you started asking for one and Game Freak decided they were done, so got whos to remake the game for the people asking for a remake, while doing something new with their series and franchise for the first time in actually forever, seeing as how every game released prior to that was a rehash of Red and Green in some manner, fashion or scope. Ergo, you got what you asked for, you expecting summat entirely different's your own fault. You forgot the evolution of the studio, series and console power they went through the last 8 years.

Because the game was made in two megabytes of space, just like Red and Green (and FRLG invented an island chain to pad out its gameplay) and if they'd just remade the originals on DS, it would absolutely have been seen as mocking the late Pokémania-era fans. They had Gen 2 era content to add, so saved themselves trying to think like 1998 and creating new shit to implement and just added crystal's story. They had enough plot and pacing to not need to do that with ORAS and BDSP was seemingly the start of a new era of remakes, remasters almost of the originals in modern engines.

the main reason for remakes was the inability to transfer pokemon from the originals into the newer games. You can transfer pokemon from RSE and above to the newest games if you so wish, so they're not needed anymore. but game freak knows that nostalgia sells so they pump out slop anyway

What you say here reads more like an indictment of capitalistic necessity than anything else, to me.

It's owned by a publicly traded company that's under pressure to churn out money. It's not about being good as much as it is about chasing as many fresh dollars as possible. They invest their pursuits not into a rewarding gameplay loop, but into hype and merch.

All in all, Pokemon is better off in the hands of people who aren't motivated by profit, and Nintendo/TPC are our biggest obstacles to that.

I was 13 when pokémon launched and 15 when it hit my region son. s reaction to ORAS' launch and the rage they weren't more like Emerald or HGSS with pointless shit to do, a battle frontier and busywork to pad out gameplay (they took the PSS and battle maison from XY and called it a day regarding post-game battle challenges though). You can say what you like, they started to lose interest in remakes but not the money they generate so palmed off the responsibility to make a remake, but ultimately supported the release of said remake to make money AND do something as a studio they had more interest in (remember, Masuda directed the originals and was prominent at Game Freak for 3 iterations of remake, even assigning Ohmori the task of directing them, of course he'd want the studio to re-sell his games by their hands again. But with him gone, seems no-one at Game Freak at a higher level cared about forcing the studio to remake anything and instead greenlit the exploration of new avenues.

I just want to see Perfect Kyurem. I think Gen 5 had a great run and it looks great so I can't imagine a 3d upgrade being needed. Maybe just a remastered version with less blury pixel art at most.
