>>57311547I disagree with cetitan (as most of the comments seem to).
But not for the same reason...
Cetitan doesn't feel like a final evolution, but it also doesn't feel like a middle evolution. It feels like making a final evolution out of a middle evolution.
I'd have predicted a bibedal mid-sized mon that with no spikes and a simpler design that evolves once again into a guadrapedal whale-hippo hybrid... thing with spikes and slightly more ice theming.
Belliebolt, sure, I guess. THough I'm not sure where I'd go with it.
Lokix could definitely have the same thing as cetitan - a slightly simpler middle evolution and then a more impressive final evolution. It looks and is weak and boring, there's no real "hook" to it.
Also, while I'm thinking on design missteps: Baxcalibur.
>It's based on a spinosaurus>Except it's got blades for claws>Except with a giant blade instead of a sail>Except it stands on two legs>And the blade is tiny and doesn't really look like a sail.>So it's like really strongly "Steel" themed.>But it's also a star-mole>So it has a star mole face >And special digging claws that are a different colour for some reason>And the star-mole face bit is ice, apparently>So actually it's an ice type.>Also, I dunno, it's got hexagons on it.Like the design is quite obviously two competing designs thrown together.
>Ice star-mole>Steel spinosaurusAnd instead of making two interesting pokemon, they just threw bits of them together into... that.
