>>57318476>game doesn't let you catch Pokemon if it's a higher level than yours currently out>game outright doesn't let you throw Pokeballs if the Pokemon is above a certain level depending on how many badges you haveIt's a miracle I didn't give up Pokemon altogether after dealing with these. Most "hat on a hat" bullshit of trying to keep the player from accidentally catching something too high-level and steamrolling the game with it.
I'm sure the logic was to prevent players from catching something twenty levels higher than their team in the Wild Area and steamrolling the rest of the game with it. That these restrictions apply outside the Wild Area is fucking retarded. I watched someone struggle for over an hour to catch a G-Ponyta before taking on the 4th gym because every single one they encountered was level 36 and the catch cap at that point is 35.
The retard cherry on top of this retard sundae is that the DLC completely side-steps this. You can go do Dynamax Adventures, fill up on level 70 legendaries that will obey you without question before getting the first fucking badge, and wipe the floor with everyone else. It's like someone at Game Freak recognized how insane the catch restrictions were and decided to cut the players a break. Either than or Game Freak just fucking forgot and couldn't be fucked to keep it consistent.
