This pokémon is a car.
It's made of metal like a car, it has headlights and a grill between them like a car, it moves about on four extremities which is what a car does, it has a tubular appendage used to expel energy, exactly like a car's exhaust pipe, it even stores things on top of itself just like some cars have compartments on their roofs to store things. Genesect is a car. I mean just LOOK at it, how can you not think it's a car? just because it's not LITCHERALLY a car doesn't make it not a car, Genesect is a car, simple as.
It's obviously supposed to be extremely evocative of a car/automobile due to the very obvious visual similarity and the fact that it functions exactly like a car. You're being a pedantic asshole who is obsessed with "being right" about a silly little thing in a children's game.
There are multiple examples in our world that either by convergence or coincidence we get to similar forms, for example the sawfish and our tool, the case of Pokemon being a fantasy world this takes it to the next level, there is even the possibility that a lot of creations of the humans of that world are inspired by its fauna, for example someone digging up the skull of a bastiodon gave him the inspiration to build a castle, someone watching the courtship ritual of Machamp created bodybuilding, or in this case a foreigner seeing wild Genesect running through Unova inspired him to create automobiles in his home region as a substitute.
Why don't you show me a machine that will magically heal animals you crammed into a ball within seconds? Oh you can't? Then why do Pokémon centers even exist?
