My very first shiny pokemon was a Watchog. I hated it so much, I powered off the game without saving it after catching it.

Mine was a Snubbull in Crystal as a kid, then later as an adult playing GO, my first shiny was also Snubbull, I guess I'm just fated to have this guy as a shiny or something.

Mine was Zangoose in Ruby. I was quite attached to it, it was devastating when my dog chewed the cartridge apart and made it unplayable.

Gen 2? If it was gen 3, then I could believe it. Every time I played through it, I almost always found a shiny mid playthrough. usually I find shinies after I beat the game

My first shiny was a Machoke in LeafGreen, so I traded it with my friend in hopes for a shiny Machamp, and it turned to its regular colour.

Mine was a Rattata in Fire Red. I was hunting for Raikou when I found it outside Palette Town. I didn't nickname it then, but I traded it over to Emerald later, where it got Pokerus and he's been my beloved little Plague Rat ever since, using him to spread it to my teams through gen 6. Last I checked he's still hanging out in the PC in my copy of X, and to this day still hasn't been out of the box long enough to actually lose Pokerus status.

It's actually a well documented glitch on Gen 3. There's a whole Bulbapedia section on it. They're called phantom shinies. They're still technically shiny pokemon, but they're displayed as normal pokemon. They behave like shiny pokemon too
