Is there a canonical in game lore explanation as to why starters are so rare in their respective regions? I remember as a kid wondering where Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle came from if they can't be found natively in Kanto. I know you can find them in the Wild in Gen VII but does that mean that they're not native to Kanto at all?
