>b-but fewer modes!More than made up for the fact that BW2 has the other facilities with different modes. XY lacks a roguelike mode from black tower and white treehollow, lacks a rentals mode, and lacks Pokestar (which you have to actively use the battle system in specific ways that require completely different strategies to fill a sprit within certain times instead of just beating enemies). Pokestar is admittedly a small side thing but it's fair game if you count all the trivial shit you're counting, like the laggy triples and rotations that offer next to no improvements.
