There's a lot of moving parts that genuinely do not communicate even within the same game, especially evident in the web of contradictions that can arise with a Pokemon's design, stats and moves, and Pokedex entries, because each is handled by a completely different group who barely if ever communicates with the others, which is how you end up with cases like Umbreon still having entries talking about spraying poison despite no longer being a poison type, Vikavolt being slow as shit despite its dex entries implicating otherwise, and many other cases.
