I've seen it pointed out that the actual spot would be closer to Akiyoshidai, which is just where the longest cave in all of Japan is located, and that the WWII symbolism is just made up crap.
And the "??????" radio signal you can receive in the ruins contains cut, and edited bits of Ho-Oh's cry.
Did we ever figure out what they were supposed to be, before they retconned Unown to be loosely related to Arceus?
