>>57382052There's gotta be cuts somewhere, Ultimate's roster is silly big.
>PikachuFor better or worse, the mascot of the series. Going nowhere. People who don't even play him would be upset.
>PuffMuch like fox and falcon, puff is more known for being in Smash than their own game. The original 12 have never been cut so it's unlikely, and HBox would have the greatest meltdown of all time. He'd absolutely lose his mind, might be worth it.
>PichuPichu is a clone so I can see the cut happening on that alone, but it has carved a niche for itself since melee. I could see a soft cut where he's folded under his evolution.
>MewtwoMewtwo has left the series before, but he's one of those characters that can sell DLC by himself and I can see Nintendo pulling that trick. Likely cut with taksies backsies later.
>LucarioHe's not the hype wagon he was in Brawl and they gave GOT to tweak his damage gimmick. I could see a cut while they tinker with it, Lucario/Mewtwo DLC would get downloaded.
>Pkmn trainerCharizard can and did carry by himself, but the concept is too interesting to completely cut. I could see keeping 'zard and moving the trainer to another region, something like Mudkip/Grovyle/Blaziken and harvest all the Mayfags or Snivy/Oshawott/Emboar. Gens 1, 4, 6, and 7 have reps, pkmn trainer should be a home for those that don't. They could even abandon the original concept and do a 'best of' cross generation deal with a fully evolved team.
>GreninjaGreninja is a quick little bunny and Japan loves that archetype in fighting games, but he's old news now. He's still the water starter best suited for a smash game. You know Blastoise would just be Bowser with water.
>IncineroarHe's the new guy and the new guys are the least missed when cut, but he's also a heavyweight that doesn't suck and that's uncommon. I can see a cut anyway because heavyweights apparently aren't meant to be good.
