Pokemon's video games were never good and you only got swept up in Pokemania because its marketing focused on the anime, TCG and toys.
When Pokemania died, instead of moving on like every other sensible child did, you clung on, and coped with the games when you started getting bullied for being a fucking loser. You even had a second chance to redeem yourself with the GO boom, but no, you still clung to the mainline games that your peers did not care about, and let the rare opportunity to socialize and connect sweep right past you, and GameFreak happily rewarded you with more heaps of dogshit, shoveled directly down your gullet while you held out your wallets.
And now you're having buyer's remorse, suddenly. You're angry. You don't want to admit you wasted your life on this franchise, so you cope even more and insist a specific game ruined it.
But the absolute TRVKE is that Pokemon never had good mainline games, and now that it's getting closer and closer to its 30 year anniversary, it's exceedingly clear that it NEVER WILL.
But you'll stay, won't you?
You'll keep coping. Keep clinging. Keep genwarring. Anything to avoid the truth and delude yourself for just a bit longer.
How fucking pathetic.
