Also there’s a common misconception that Sinnoh is based off the Japanese province of Hokkaido. This is false. Sinnoh is actually modeled from ancient accounts of what Hyperborea looks like. No non-white region could be so perfect, let alone a disgusting gook region. All Sinnohans are Hyperborean Aryan whites, and this is fact.

Wait, do we consider Egyptians Mediterranean? I feel like people are more keen on calling them Middle Easterns (though I suppose southern Italians and Greeks can sometimes look Middle Eastern). Unless we just call anyone around the Mediterranean Sea Mediterraneans and not specific Southern European Nations/Middle Eastern countries.
Still a Japanese game though.

Samurott (the Pokémon inspired by Samurais) is the water starter for Unova (the Pokémon equivalent of The United States). I don't think a group of Japanese game devs (especially before going full in on different non Asian regions) cared about that kind of shit.

Sure, but you're ignoring all the other mons that just aren't Mediterranean. Also, Empoleon is probably more inspired by Napoleon than Posiedon. Unless you really want to stretch it and say the French are Mediterranean (they aren't).
Perhaps Sinnho has some lite Greek motifs, but other than that, it's most likely Japanese like all the other regions before it.
