>>57403693I think it was because they wanted the new features incorporated into the story, but it was done in such a clunky way between the Mega Stones, Groudon and Kyogre's natural energy, the national dex, the Eon Flute, the Latios or Latias you obtain being connected to that Eon Flute, and their weird refusal to incorporate the positive changes to Emerald and instead make a postgame story that serves as an in-between for some of it.
Then there's whatever pic related is, a neat nod to the anime, but raises even more questions.
