I wouldnt say XY Lumiose belongs to both people and Pokemon. There are no wild Pokemon living in the city, there's Gogoat ride and few Pokemon running around that most likely have owners since you cant catch or battle them.

To me the time period suggested by the teaser was present/near future and thats what i think it will be

I believe the pokemon are wild, outside of the gogoat services. I think they're owned by a company. The rest of the Pokemon are like fletchling and espurrs, which is the equivalent to stray cats and birds. You can't battle them because catching and battling them would ruin what makes lumiose city unique. I think it's the only city where you see a large population of wild pokemon living along side humans. Realistically, it's because XY is incomplete

I believe ZA takes past in the near past. Probably our equivalent to the 20th century. I'm getting 1930s-50s vibes from it

Kid, if they wanted to make a game based around modern-era mechanics, they would have. Just as they would have remade BDSP themselves if they wished. They didn't do either, creating Legends: Arceus, establishing its setting and era and announcing it as "A new direction for the Pokémon series" in '21 then followed that up by announcing a second title under the Legends imprint, set in a different area of the Pokémon world, but by the fact they connected it to the first title in the imprint, they've similarly established its era as one preceding the modern era displayed in the paired games and likely analogous to L: A's setting of around 1922 and probably cadging notes off Hausmann's Renovation of Paris, similar to how L: A framed the colonisation of Hisui as analogous to the settlement of Ezochi. They already told you how this shit's going to play out. That includes stating it wasn't your lost childhood rehash released at last.

I think it can be interpreted in several ways

It's true that in the XY's Lumiose there are Pokémon, but they're mainly used to offer services to humans. There is no real coexistence, in which Pokémon (especially wild ones) can live inside the city. I think that Game Freak, in XY, probably wanted to avoid tall grass in such an urban context, and probably the 3DS hardware made it difficult to include areas where you could use Surf in a map like that

However, in a game where Pokémon appear directly in the overworld you can solve this problem, and exploit the absence of wild Pokémon in XY's Lumiose to build a narrative on it

In fact, in the teaser there was a Trainer trying to catch a wild Dragonair in a canal inside the city

I'm not saying that it WILL be like this, but it's a possibility we can't rule out

And Pokémon were seen as monstrous creatures that humans don't even dare approach. In Kalos, humans 3,000 years ago used armored Pokémon in war. But it's impossible for the game to be set that far in the past, since the logo (the Quasar one) that appears in the trailer is clearly from a modern era. So, if the game is set in the past, I think it'll be a past very close to the present

Another possibility, however, is that the game is set in a Lumiose City from another world, and that's why there was no need to make XY remakes

Except they started L: A not planning nor ruling out a remake,. It's obvious (or at least "obvious to all but the most autistic retards on the pokémon internet") that concept changed the instant they greenlit BDSP from ILCA, given they recreated the player's bedroom from DP/BDSP in a clear attempt to start the game from there, as DP/BDSP started from it and the inclusion of tech from aound the turn of the century, rather than "150 years prior". That they included a building which only achieved its current form after a fire and rebuild in 1888 in the real world as base for the Galaxy expedition pegs it no earlier than that to boot. Can you fuckers play the games, stop watching youtubers spreading misinformation?

They make deliberate choices - that extends to tying canon to their early lore more completely (gen 1 lore stated pokéballs were created in 1925, L: A stated they were created recently to the events of the game, hard-limiting how early a Pokémon game can or will be set) to setting a game closer to 100 years ago rather than 150 years ago, to leave a shorter generational span between NPC's in L: A and their descendants in DP/BDSP.

PLA is paradoxical because Lucas/Dawn is sent to the past to fix something that wasn't caused by outside forces. What I mean is: in the original timeline (in the timeline Lucas is from, before he goes to the past), Volo does his giratina shit. No matter what, Volo was going to do his giratina shit. It's not like future giratina influenced him and changed the past -- volo was always going to do that shit. But even then, Arceus sends you to the last and has you fix all the frenzied shit, even though this stuff should have happened in Lucas' timeline.

What I'm trying to say is: Lucas goes back in time to save the day, but who originally saved the day? We know someone had to save the day, otherwise Sinnoh would be fucked. And I don't think it's ever suggested that someone or something altered the past

Oh, there's your problem - assuming it broke the timeline for Lucas to go back. Yeah no, Lucas appeared in Hisui, saved it and helped the Galaxy team settle it, grew up, had a family, died then was born 11 years prior to the incident at the Lake of rage, inspiring him to seek out the Legendary said to live in Lake Verity. That the painting in the house of worship in DP/BDSP is the same one Sanqua created based on the events during the settlement proves it. Sinnoh exists because of the events of L: A, meaning Lucas saved the land twice.
And I'm not even TOUCHING the fact game events are canon, thus Lucas saving Hisui and Sinnoh is a core tenet of the universe as it stands.

Do what? Set a limit? L: A, Laventon directly states the pokéball is a recent invention, during the catching tutorial. At most, its creation was in 1900 (and even then, 22 years isn't what I would class as "recent" in the slightest, 22 years ago, I was turning 20 and had grand designs for my life) but most likely within 5 years of 1922 (the approximate date for L: A's events). The creation of the pokéball is the "discovering fire" of the pokémon universe, it kick-starts the evolution of the world by allowing people to A) befriend more than one or two pokémon at a time and B) affords a method to easily transport or travel with them, eventually giving rise to the travelling trainer on a journey. They wanted to limit how far back they could feasibly go and having the Professor of the game set in an older era state "they're a pretty new thing" does that for them.

Another interesting point, if ZA is set during the Haussmann's Renovation of Paris (1850's and 1870's), it would fit in line around the same time L:A takes place .

The concept was that, they changed it when they greenlit BDSP and started trying to open L: A in Lucas' room. this is the difference between concept and finsihed product and rarely does concept survive the development process unscathed, doubly so in Pokémon, where shit will get fucked out as soon as anyone in-office says "it doesn't feel right for the series". That's why the camera looks like a model from the 1900's, rather than one the earliest made, but you didn't play the game to pick up on that.

You're suggesting Lucas is his own ancestor, which has a lot of problems. The main one being: if Lucas going back in time is canon to the DPP timeline, then what happened to the first timeline? In order for Lucas to be his own ancestor, he has to get sent back in time, but he can't get sent back in time because Lucas doesn't exist.

You could say that "Rei" existed instead of Lucas, but then why the fuck was he sent to the past to begin with? Again: as far as I know, NO ONE ALTERED THE PAST. WHY THE FUCK WAS HE EVEN SENT THERE? And when he completes the Pokedex, isn't he allowed to go back to the present?

I personally think when Lucas went back in time, he didn't go "back in time", but created a new timeline where Lucas saves the day instead of Rei

You're ignoring the expy of the Hokkaido government buildings (got destroyed in a fire in 1879, got rebuilt and finished in red brick in 1888) as the headquarters of the Galaxy team, like I said limits it to 1888 at the earliest but again, that, the camera and regurgitating lore from Gen 1 said to have occurred in the 1920's HEAVILY imply that's the setting and era. I *DO* know they're deliberate with their choices, know their fanbase is aware of shit, even shit spouted only once in Japan on a full moon in sagittarius and that they haven't spoken of their creation lore since 1996 and assuming the west got the same information and have been correcting western misinformation, misunderstandings and flat-out assumption since TPC taking over localisation of Gen 5 and reporting the sate of western understanding of the series (most the shit the west chimped out over has been common knowledge in japan - from shrinking pokémon to eggs as cradles). Game Freak establishing a scenario in a game, then tacking on critical lore regarding crucial elements of the series is on-brand for them of late.

I'm more interested in the Gen One remake coming out for the 30th anniversary.
I've read some interesting "leaks" most them seem to indicate playing as Red or Green with Blue as the Rival and Red or Green as your friend along the journey. It's mostly just the original 151 Pokémon but they added the evolution families from other generations and apparently are locking them behind post game and are apart of the Kanto Pokédex proper. The Sevii Islands will have a bunch of regional variants of Kanto pokémon including the legendary birds. And apparently the safari zone will have its traditional purpose but it also features a rail shooter pokemon snap style.
And one leak even mentioned scream tail and sandy shocks on the Sevii Islands.
A bunch of others mentioned a few new megas, new regional variants (existing regional variants retconed into sevii island variants as well), new pre evos, new evos, branch evos, and new 2 new Eeveelutions. Handful of other shit, like Mt. Silver and ToJo Falls being Kanto as well. I can't remember everything, but that's the bulk of the consistencies across the "leaks"

Anon, Paris existed for 2,111 years before Napoleon commissioned the suite of public works that became known as the Haussmann renovation. And given the pokémon world mirrors the real world (and we KNOW there was a kingdom at war 3k years prior to the events of XY), we can take it as read Lumiose existed since then too and prior to the modern era, commissioned a suite of public works to rebuild the city into one fit for human and pokéon habitation (almost as if the creation of a piece of tech that allowed people to carry pokémon more easily across distances ignited this need for re-development). It's unlikely to be a XYgote rehash they never got in 2015 however, after all Legends: Arceus wasn't a sinnohtoddler rehash nor even a remake either, despite it being that time to produce a remake.
